A Baby No Longer . . .
It's official. Renae is no longer a baby. Sure, she hasn't turned 1 quite yet, but it seems this past week my little baby girl has gone from smiley baby to a very toothy toddler. Yesterday Renae woke up and decided it was the day to grow up.
Rock star Daddy and rock star Renae. Yeah Baby.
Jesse and I were playing with her in her room shortly after we all woke up. Renae demonstrated that she was not qualified to stand up on her own without anyone or anything helping her. She did the typical put-my-butt-in-the-air-first-then-pull-the-rest-of-my-body-up move. During our play time she repeatedly pulled herself up to standing! I don't know who taught her but it's here to stay.
Is this not the cheesiest grin ever?
Later on that day, we bought Renae's new car seat. She's outgrown the one we brought her home from the hospital in. She now gets to ride in the car facing forward which she seems to enjoy. Now instead of looking big in her old car seat, she looks little again in the new one.
Apparently old enough to have a tattoo . . .
Even later on in the day, I was helping Renae practice walking. I let go of her hands and she remained standing. Then I saw her move one foot in front of the other until her hands caught her on the trunk in her room. I chalked it up to pure inertia. However, for the next 45 minutes she proved us wrong and took step after step after step. We called the Grandparents and they too witnessed Renae's day of first steps.
She feeds herself. Sometimes.
How can my baby not be a baby anymore? I feel like this week started out as usual, but ended with a toddler on our hands. Ok, so maybe she's not officially a toddler, but she sure doesn't seem like a baby anymore. Everyone told us they would grow up so fast but I don't think we were able to understand until yesterday. Now that Renae is really mobile, I think our lives are about to get pretty interesting . . .
Our white trash baby shows us her moves below:

What the heck! She's not allowed to be that big yet! Walking?!? I almost cried watching her! On a side note: I love how excited she is about the music. It's like she doesn't know what to do with her self except just move her little tushy. Too cute!

Aww, no WAY! Walking?!? What the heck? Who gave her permission to grow up like that? She's so adorable bouncing and smiling and laughing - and I'm SO impressed with how well she's walking and pulling herself up from sitting! Wow! Thanks for the video, I loved it!
Ok I am totally jealous that I can't see the video of her walking... is it you tube? If so, it's blocked here, so instead you guys will just have to come see us so we can witness those walking moves :)
Stop feeding that girl crack! (that's what Scott says)

That girl's got rhythm though her navigation skills need some work (crawling into the coffee table).
Thanks for sharing these precious moments!
Love you,
Aunt Dee
