Back from the Good Ole U.S. of A . . .
"I am an American!"
What a whirlwind trip! I had to head to Chicago to pick up Renae's visa and my visa. Renae did not have to pick it up in person, but I really didn't want to face the wrath of Grandparents for not bringing her with. We left last Thursday, and got back yesterday. My visit to the consulate literally took about 30 minutes. So I flew all the way across the ocean, took a train into Chicago, walked the wrong way for half an hour, walked the right way for 45 minutes, found the consulate, waited for my turn, picked up the visas, then headed back to the hotel in taxi. That's it! But hey, I got a free trip to the US to see family. AND . . . I was able to bring back stuff we left, plus lots of food that we can't get here.
My bags were each over 50lbs and the agent didn't charge me anything!!
Renae enjoying the swim!
I will have to post more later. I have lots of pictures to share! Check back later . . .

You just had to have the beef jerky didn't you - or was that for Jesse? I'm glad you and Renae were able to come back for a visit. I think your mom and dad had a wonderful time. I'm also really glad that you were able to take a lot of stuff back with you -free of charge (so to speak).
Julie, so thankful God's favor surrounded you your whole trip! Look at every detail where He was providing...plus, you didn't have to pay for heavy baggage. And in your being blessed, so was Jesse. Am thankful you and your "stuff" arrived home safely and that you were greeted so lovingly.
Love you, Penni
Renae sure is growing! Can't wait to see her in September.
